i have a bare frame and want to keep it from rusting, whats the best bet on what to use for this? thanks!

I had a Columbia reproduction frame that I purchased bare. I used either wd-40 or a BreakFree for guns. This leaves a great bare metal look. I figured it would be like having a cast iron pan and only gets better with age.

A couple guys here have clear coated with something in a rattle can also.

if you want to keep the bare metal and not have it rust(even if it gets wet)use ppg's dx 579(its a metal cleaner)you can get it at any ppg automotive paint supplier(like 20$ for a quart but ive done 3 or 4 complete cars and still have 3/4's of the quart left!) just google ppg p sheets and itll print out the instructions
p.s. make sure your frame is steel though(if not find out what it is and google ppg p sheets again itll tell you what kind to use if its aluminuim also)
heres the link........
