It does now!
Thanks for sharing. That page is awesome. GREAT to see vintage ads of products to customize choppers. Never seen those before...

that whole series of articles is great to read with both a lot of good info and a lot of odd rare parts most of which even i have never seen. makes me wonder how long it will be before some of these parts get repoped? i know i would be down for a tall hangman sissy bar.

The big picture for me is the way Kustom bikes became factory bikes, and then factory bikes became Kustom. I can appreciate the Kustom Kulture more knowing its true historical impact! :D

Wow! That's some kookie stuff! I want one of those big sissy bars and Wichita mags. Great read.

1968 was the first year of the Schwinn Krate series.

If you have a '68 Krate, don't waste your time looking for a front fender.

I have heard rumors that later in 1968 they actually made a razor edge front fender for the Krate, and i even owned one but can;t find any documentation on it. I also have heard that the left over 1968 models were upgrade to 1969 parts and sold as 1969's. :D

1968 was the year I graduated High School, turned 18, my first girlfriend, went to college, enlisted, regretted, etc.
I'm there with Roadmaster .....in 68 I was 18 and life was good . The last thing on an 18 year old boys mind was a bicycle....Maybe WoodStock.

Don't remember any birthing going on , But I was there when it changed.
Use to go to a small park in Houston ,and ZZ Top would play for free on Sundays , because they didn't have any paying gigs.

Hmmmm...
And I guess it won't be as impressive when I say that I witnessed the rise and fall of Brittney Spears huh..?

No, I'm a bit older than that...

Kidding aside: We, rookies learn a lot from you, pioneers.
Thanks for paving the way! 8)
