I picked up a lady's version of these:

all the hand shifters, braking, and cabling were trash. I got it working and riding as a single speed and coasting brakes (you coast to a stop then drag your feet  ) .. the riding experience is basically a stairmaster on 2 wheels.

The rear wheel is a dual sided single speed freewheel hub, so it could be used to build a left hand drive bicycle. Otherwise, the rest of the drivetrain is shiny scrap metal. I'm debating to flip it to someone that wants obscure bikes (assuming there are people) or take the rear wheel, and scrap the frame. Thoughts?

I had one that worked great. I never rode it though and didn't have room to store it so I sold it.

Those bikes are a trip to ride. Takes a bit to get them going, 3 speeds and you wont hit 20 mph at all. Then try to ride a normal bike right after and it will take a wile to get used to ride it again. A normal bike that is.

I think Sheldon Brown described it as a waste of energy to go nowhere at all.
