I just litteraly broke my bank, I have been searching for this tank for my Spaceliner forever it seems like, I had the money in paypal when the auction came up, and then ebay fees,,,,,so I have been scraping to pay off the bill, trying to sell ,well anything, but it is a lousy time to sell as we all know, so $160 later I got my 7 tank with light...OUCH!!!

So far; $50.00 on a Krate Springer.

...but I haven't been able to look for the other stuff yet; like a good slik, stik-shift-all of it, suspension sissy bar, etc...

Lots, and lots...on these 144 Spoke Fan Wheels and Kenda Flames Tires. Justification comes from just how good I feel riding this bike!

In 1974 when I was 16 years old I spent $50 on a pair of Phil Wood hubs. It truly was far more money than I had ever had before.

just over $300 on my ratfinks springer  oops lol well worth it looks awesome but its develloped into a no expense spared bike and still got lots of ideas... damn hobbies

It would be cool if you still had them.

I have never spent much on parts unless you count wheelsets.

180$ on fenders and trainlight for my prewar Rollfast. Wouldn't have stung so much if they had worked out

Would be cool if I still had those hubs. Of course I have spent much more since but never in relation to what I had. My first Campagnolo hub, found in the trash in 1969 sits on my desk today.

$400.00 on this wheelset

saw a bike just like this (sans wheels, it just had regular spokes) at a pawn shop recently

i was about to say probaly a spoiler front end. springer, caliper and disc brake front wheel for i think $175, but i have a set of 20" spin wheels i may have spent a little more for. i don't remember.

if i win a lottery or something it will be a nice internal gear hub, maybe a nuvinci even.

I spent close to $40 on a used Brooks saddle, I know some guys on here have spent alot more than that. Spent just under $50 on a new 26" coaster brake wheelset, I think that's as much as I've spent on a part. The seat was a goof, didn't think I'd win the auction and didn't realize I did till a few days after. Oops.

Spent $200 for a wheelset with a Nexus 7 off of a 2000 something Schwinn. I've more than made up for it on the other end by finding valuable parts for cheap over the years. Gary

I haven't got anything more than $50 yet but when I find one, I usually try to go for it then I chicken out of it since I don't have much money on me at most times and sometimes I get something then find what I have been looking for longer than the other then I don't have the money left to get it.

Not having paypal or a credit card has kept me from getting a lot of things I have wanted.

When i first started building again, I dropped $110 for a non-repop rusty Monark fork setup. Ended up only using the springer section and rockers because a 24 x 3 wouldn't fit the 'main' fork.

Even worse, I probably have close to $400 tied up in a Huffy Santa Fe/Cranbrook! Granted, it looks cool, but.........

Oh well, you live, you learn...

Cheers,
Dr. T

Most on a bike part was $40 on a set of new tires, I have spent less on complete bikes...lol.
Auto parts on the other hand, I bought a REBUILT starter for my old International diesel and OUCH! $750...........You don't want to know what the NEW one cost.

Its funny after having spent the summer building vintage BMX and then coming back here I have a different outlook on what a "lot" of money is in bicycle terms. A recent BMX build of mine came in close to $1000 dollars and only because I got friendly deals on most of the parts. Im glad to be back over here now :D

I just spent $200 on a totally restored Mesinger pre-war long-spring saddle.
It was pricey, but it looks brand new and immediately became my favorite saddle (I own several cruisers). I've seen unrestored long-spring saddles go for more than $200.
Oddly enough, I paid the same amount for the Electra Ghostrider on which it currently resides, but I got a great deal on the bike.
