I thought it would be cool to make a list up of what people use when building/rebuilding.

For a newbie like myself it is so awesome to have such knowledge at your fingertips. And to get tips and tricks from people who have been there already, really eliminates a lot of wasted trial and error time. (even though that's fun sometimes and you accidentally come across new things that way).

So list your favorite brand, or general item, or a rat rod alternative that works.

Penetrating Oil -

Looking forward to the responses! :D

PB Blaster, synthetic chassis grease, 10W30, that's about it.

I use whatever I have in my shop, usually:
WD-40 for loosening/cleaning
marine all-purpose grease, 1 tube will last me years
5W30 synthetic motor oil, I always have a bit left over from changes
pneumatic tool oil (single weight) for tools and the occasional bike part

Liquid Wrench for when things are rusted tight
2 stroke engine oil for freewheels and chains
grease for bearings
and once in a while linseed oil to condition the seat.

I use white lithium grease for rear hubs, especially Bendix kickbacks as it is just a bit thinner and helps shifting. Gary
