Started the morning by putting a Turkey and a Ham on the smoker for when the kids get here this evening.

Started the afternoon with a Bike Build for the grand kids.

Probably one of the few tricycles that ever got grease on it's moving parts! :D

Finished!
I had gone completely thru the the little garage sale bike about a month ago,
and it turned out very nice when we added a basket to it.

About the time I got finished, I heard all sorts of sirens heading towards us,
turned out to be the house right behind us. Really messed up their Christmas. :(
Our neighborhood is pretty tight, they are being taken care of this evening.

Wow Jerry...it has been a day for you.

Looks like your family will be happy this evening. :D

We will be Great when the kids get here, and my oldest son comes in from Austin tonight. :D :D

I feel really bad for the neighbors. :(
He was burned some initially trying the fight it, but we heard from the fire fighters that he will be OK.
The ambulance was in no hurry taking him to the hospital.
The fire got into their attic, so it's hard to say just how much damage was sustained.
The fire fighters saved the house, it looks OK from the outside, but time will tell just how bad it was.

Count your blessings everyone, and Never have candles in the house!

candles are bad.

usually if the fire gets into the attic itll end up taking the whole house. very tricky to fight. your town must have a very skilled fire dept. hope your neighbor is ok.

Wow you are busy. I hope everythings ok with your neighbor.
Anything we can do?
Looks like you've been busy all day and I'm sure for the rest of the weekend.
Hope you get something good.

Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year

Hey just a though we got like 9,000 members here. What if we put together a fund for him and his family? each of us mail a dollar to help him rebuild and help his family have a nice Christmas. I'll even donate the first dollar.

Count me in.

I got a returned/sent back $75 Money Order sitting right here because of a comunication breakdown from a member on here...

All's they gotta do is forge the guys name on the back and cash it.

Where should I send it to?

You Guys!!!

Sheryl and I are amazed at the kindness and generosity of you folks here on the forum.
When I get the chance to talk to the family I'll tell them of your offer and generosity.

I believe that they will be OK, they are insured.
One neighbor, a local businessman, booked them into a hotel yesterday.

Please just drop an extra buck or two into a Red Kettle, or some other charity local to you.

The Christmas Spirit is what counts, and you bike guys sure do have it.

Thank You, I'm proud to know all of you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

An update, from the neighbor who lives next to them.

Master bedroom where it started, totaled, but the rest of the house, smoke and possible water damage. "The girls rooms were spared". So, better than I thought, and yes, we have very skilled firefighters, Keller, Colleyville, and Southlake responded and their trucks are in the picture I posted.

Long road ahead for them, but it could have been a lot worse.

On a personal note, my own family had 2 days together, a blessed time for us.
