Ok so over the winter i plan to do more bike work and i was wondering what size tubing is usually used in making frames. Would something like 1-1/2" SCH 40 (1.90 OD X .145 wall) A-500 Structural Steel work well or do i need thicker or thinner wall size. Thanks for the help

Schedule 40 pipe is very thick wall, I would recommend something around 16 gauge (1.6 mm/ 0.06 inch) wall for a first timer and make your way thinner as you learn what works and what does not.

Unfortunately with that supplier if you run a bigger tube it gets a lot thicker. It does not matter if you want to go bigger, just bear in mind the extra weight...
Looks like their prices are not too bad! You will still need some bikes to cut parts from, bottom bracket, fork stem, head tube etc...
