Got a new pair of Chen Shin tires in red. There is a white coating on them that I guess is a mold release agent.Scrubbed em with Palmolive dish detergent and Scotch Brite sponge. That did not work. Before I try mineral spirits, has anyone found a safe way to remove this white coating?

It is likely a product designed to help them store properly without effects of moisture or dryness. But either way, any stout cleaning agent should take it off. If not, try steel wool. Not only will that clean them, but it helps eliminate that sqeakiness that new tires have before they get worn in.

I never had that prolbem with the magic eracer on items Ive I tried it with. Ive even used it on dolls with no prolbems ..But with like everything you try start off small or even try a inside area if possible .
Id use sos also but use it gently if you scrub to hard with sos that will mess the color up..
I would not use mineral spirits that can weaken the tire pre maturely ..
