Wooden Krate frame? For real?

No, never heard of one either. Someone went to a lot of trouble though. Even the handle grips look factory molded. If it's a 68 bike, just redone, it's still worth some coin. The catalog says the krates came out in 68, so that's something, but there was no wooden krate in 68, just the 3 shown here:

While we're on the subject, how did the names "krate" and "peeler" arise? I'd assume peeler came from dragsters or street cars "peeling" out, but I don't understand the krate? Do I even understand the peeler right?

As for the wooden krate, it's a good idea, but seems like they'd have some sort of documentation to prove it's real.

eh. they could have done a better job for the price that it's going for.I've seen some members on here do a better job with a rattle can than what they did on the frame. You can tell they didn't do a pass of clear underneath the top tube around the seat tube.

I'm glad you mentioned something! Go to the ad and look at the "Zoom" view on the chainguard, the wood grain looks to be done in Sharpie marker, really, look at it! Then you can see some initials on the chain guard bracket behind the sprocket. Then zoom in on the rear of the chainguard bracket and check out the overspray. Now zoom in on the seat... some weird stuff going on there.

I think I know who has this bike. He buys and sells a lot of bikes, he doesn't say they are the real deals, just one of a kind.
I should call him and talk to him about this one to find out more info.

I didn't do the zoom I just looked at the pick it's not an original the price is out of my range anyways
