I bought a used Felt Vintage Iron from a collector. The bike was all originals and looked great in the photos. It had a lot of scratches when it arrived and was far from perfect. I sold everything but the seat clamp, seat post, and frame and then made this.

Put a couple pictures in the Finished Thread...
A before and a Finished...

Not to complain, but when did you build this bike up and where is the pictures of it being done. That is part of the build off process to show what you are doing.

Nice looking bike, but we don't know what started out looking like.

I wish I had seen this sooner. I built it this year (2014.) I am glad your are telling me because I have a couple of pics of my next bike. I sold the blue bike last month.IMG_5999.jpeg http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?attachments/71466_10151957677702569_323723313_n-jpg.1046/

The orange rack is for another bike that I'm building. I'll make sure I add more photos of me putting it together. My apartment is a bike shop practically. I have I have 5 Felts there and this one above is at the Studio Cycle Co as they are working to figure out a way I can get at least 5 speeds out of this thing. Oh yeah, discs too.

That is a lot of work you put in to that bike. How long did that take you? The decals on the rims are cool.
The bike took a couple of months. I started it in December and finished it in February. It is a tribute bike to the 1914 Yale motorcycle. The Felt frame, seat clamp and seat post are the only original parts. Everything else is brand new from Europe, China and America. If sold this bike last month. If you like it you'll like the two I'm finishing up now.

On my living room floor is an orange former Baron 2. In my kitchen is a King Pin with no fenders, bad paint and greenish brown tires. In my bedroom are a new pair of Felt Berm Master tires. I've got plans for the King Pin. It's going to be a competition certified Felt "Huffy Thunder Star." One of my co-workers is doing the decals for me. :) Enjoy. What are some of your rides?

Are those fork tubes on there the right way or is there a reason that they are on there that way?

Hey Dracothered,

The forks were made by Girvin and I thought the same thing you did when I first saw them. Believe it or not, they are on the proper way. Then again, maybe the first pair was assemble incorrectly and rather than be embarrassed they just kept building them that way.

Actually, Girvin made their forks backwards to compensate for the offset of the suspension.
You got some nice bikes!

I understand that concept, but it just doesn't look right. Though that is my taste, so others may not mind it. Other than that the bike looks good.

I looking into getting the skyway 24 mags like you. What kind of brakes are you using now? Coaster or is it freewheel?

I am running squeezie brakes on the mags. I bought some old skyways and a few other mags just to yank the flanges off and try to run discs. If I figure that out I'll make about 10 copies of this bike using oil blued double-crown forks with Skyways and dual disc brakes.

I am nearly finished building this Felt. I am not happy with the color. I picked Orange. That looks Porange to me. I haven't got it out into sunlight yet. I may have the powder coater re-do it. They didn't give me pearl white. I asked for pearl white on some parts. They could've given me the wrong orange.
