I think the bullet would have to be integrated into a tank to work here, which would preclude the use of truss rods and would be a distraction on a bike with such nice lines.

On the right bike it could make a cool bullnose, but that was never my intention with this bike. Just tested out the ideas that rolled in my head after TRMs dome lense suggestion. Not feeling it for this build

Yep, didn't realize how big it is. Still a cool idea that could work with the front fourth of the bullet in front of a smaller light.

That light is very nice as is. I'm not sure if it needs anything added to it. However, I would try flipping it upside down on the bracket to to see how it would look in front of the truss rods.

Red line deal is nice and subtle. Looks good. That light is really cool as is and looks good on there. Would be interesting to see it flipped on the bracket as TRM suggested.

This might be a tough bike to personalize. Seems like it would be tough to improve on the basic look you've got going with it. Sleek + clean. Love that ratty seat on there though. That ads a nice bit of contrast. I'm sure you'll figure out something fabulous.

My first instinct on the bullet nose was right. I'm just not feeling it at all.
In fact I'm not feeling the scale that the horn light would take either. I think both options take away from the beauty of the jeweled light.

but it could look cool notched or dented and dropped over the front tire IMO

Hmmmmmm, I'm still not keen on the bullet there, but that placement for the light holds promise.

I've thought about trying that, but the mounting base for this light is pretty big and having it on top would hide some of the beauty of the light.
I've been set on using the cool gooseneck bracket, but I'm kinda liking the light placement that 1HP mocked up.

I'm really liking the ratty seat. I think it's gonna tie in with a couple of vintage ratty ideas I have to still be sleek but with a dirty edge to it.

if your putting a light on it it needs to be large and in charge ! Oh and vintage looking !!

The jeweled light is bigger than most and is vintage and beautiful

The red is right on the money not sure about the light but I'm sure you will make it work & look great .
Reminds me of a old Cadillac grill .

Since this is patterned after a high speed vehicle how about an aerodynamic cowling up front? Partially transparent for vision down the track and the lower portion silver to match bike. Just coloring outside the lines.

I had thought about something along those lines early on and even had a small windshield idea with some curved bars, but I'm just not feeling it anymore.

In my opinion, your bike poses one of the biggest challenges out of all of the bikes in this years build off. It looks so good with just the frame and wheel covers that anything else runs the risk of taking away from the bike instead of adding to it. With your natural propensity for adding do dads, it will be even harder to show restraint. As you proclaimed yourself, subtle is not your style! :emo:

You definitely have everyone's attention and it's going to be interesting to see the finished product!

:D I get the biggest kick each year with so many warnings about going too far. :D

Thanks for ALL the comments and concerns guys. I do take them into consideration, but at the same time I'm still gonna have fun and build a kingfish bike.

Just like last year, I'm enjoying the challenge of putting my touch on a beautiful frame and parts.

In the end, if I don't have fun then the build is a failure.

Thanks for the feedback Jim, this beautiful and unique frame definitely poses additional challenges. One of my favorite parts of the build offs is the collective creativity and consciousness we all share with these builds.

Agreed. It is the fun that brings me out to the shed every day. And the expression of my personal creativity / ingenuity in the builds that have my own signature stamp on them. Like my fortune cookie that I opened up during my Mesa Buggie ORBO build says:
"Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort" :soapbox:

Hahaha, it did seem to pay off for you last year as I recall! Bring on the do dads!
