    Albuquerque rentals?

I'm in Albuquerque for the next week and thought it would be great to have a bike to explore with. Tried Google but it's kind of hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Any NM'ers with ideas on who might have a few bikes - preferably cruisers - available for rent?

    Sturmey Archer questions

I picked up an older 3-speed on the cheap and it is missing the brake-side (left) axle nut. How much of a specialty item might this be? Orchard, LBS, Harris, RRB? Also, I'm wondering about oil for the little filler. Is Triflow or T9 good for this or is an all-purpose, old-school oil better?

    Saddle Anatomy help

I bought a new piece of leather to recover this old seat (sorry for pinching the photo Pinche): I went and looked at a new Brooks seat to figure out what to do with the nose and it looks like I'm missing a piece that the front rivets attach to. I guess I have 2 questions: 1) can anyone take a...

Flea Market Accessorizing - $3 light

Sorry, I forgot the camera so I have lousy cell phone pics. Got this can for a buck: Got the flashlight for two bucks: Here's how it looks after blasting: Now I just need to rust the can a bit. I'll probably be hitting you guys up for wiring help after I finish with the fabricating. I plan...

    Seat Post size

Sorry is this has been covered ad nauseam but "seat" and "post" both seem to be too common to allow a search. I'm trying to find the diameter of the seat post from a Sears Flightliner circa '62. I could post a picture if needed but the thing is twisted, crushed, marred and charred . . . you know...

    Prewar-style kickstand made aftermarket?

I've mostly been lurking but am enjoying this place tremendously. Does anyone make the prewar-style of kickstand (like the one above) as an aftermarket item? I like the style but I currently have a fairly modern bike and can't really justify taking a genuine prewar item out of circulation...

Hey from Santa Cruz Mountains, CA

Hi, I'm a high school film teacher in Northern California who has recently rediscovered my love of bikes. My first love was a Santa Claus-delivered red Sting Ray with a 5-speed stick, banana seat and sissy bar. I recently bought a rusty but relatively new Electra Swing. I teach next door to an...
