I picked up this big tire Rollfast recently and through my research (I think) it is a Snyder built ‘59 Rollfast. I looked through numerous ads this particular single bar cantilever-esque frame appeared in the ‘58 ads. I read on the cabe that Rollfast made their last big tire bikes in ‘59, and judging by the A to start the serial number I’m pretty sure it’s a ’59 (although Rollfast info is a little scattered and inclusive).
Anyway - my goal was to refresh it and give a Rollfast style paint job from the 30’s - 40’s Era. I added the tank, a early 50’s style chainguard and headbadge, and truss rods, but otherwise the bike is stock. I painted the details on the original paint fenders, and painted the tank and chainguard to match to the original green. I added the Rollfast decals to add a little pop of red to match the headbadge.
The bike rides like a new one and it’s going to be my daily, or as close as I’ll have to a daily rider (I like to ride most all my bikes!)
