13/16" seat post

Hey all, does any of you know of a tougher seat post for old schwinns? I got one but it bends pretty easy. Or a solution to stop it bending??

i use old bmx fluted posts, i had about a dozen 13/16 at one point, now im down to like 2

The old heavily chromed ones that use the little 5/8" clamps that you can't find anywhere are usually much stronger than newer 7/8" clamp ones. If you're that hard on them, the extruded aluminum stock idea is probably a good bet. On the other hand, if you're a 250 pounder sitting bolt upright with apes or a high beach bar, you might still be SOL. :mrgreen:

ON MY MURRAY I TOOK A PIECE OF RE-BAR AND CUT IT TO THE LENGTH OF THE POST AND WELDED BOTH ENDS. KWIK FIX

Thanks for the replies, and I did what one of you suggested and put a piece of steel bar up the inside of the post and its worked a treat. added a bit more weight but this thing could anchor the titanic anyways I reckon, so not bothered.
