My bike here is a 53 Meteor, but only the frame is Meteor. Everything else is parts that were scrounged over the years. The original sprocket was large, I think 52 teeth, but I lost it. It wasn't skiptooth. The forks also went missing. The chainguard was damaged and was smaller than the one I have. Meteors didn't have a tank either. I searched all the catalogs and ads, it looked like the Meteor was only offered in 52 and 53, but others here have them from 1955, so I don't know the exact years they were made. They were a budget bike, lower on the totem pole than the other Schwinns. It was the standard bike.
