A friend of mine gave me what I believe to be a 1967 Huffy The Rail. It is in pretty good condition with some scrapes and scratches. The brakes work ok, but could be better. The shifter changes the gears but the cable could use some adjustment I'm curious, what is original on it and what its missing.
The serial number on the bike starts with 7H0.

Some pictures.

Interesting. It has the 66 shifter that is mounted to the frame but has a 67 serial number. must of been one of the last 66 frames made. Pedals are wrong. The rest looks correct. It even has the 66 sissy bar frame holders.

66 sissy bar frame holders? What was different about the sissy bar in 66 as opposed to 67?

What a good friend indeed! I agree with Jaxon, it is a 1967 frame with the carryover 1966 shifter and parts. I bet that was an early production 1967 bike. Very cool score! It is very clean and other than the pedals and maybe the front tire it looks to have all the original parts.
