I can't exactly say that it's really a fresh find for me as it was for fellow member t4man. I suppose you could say that it ended up finding me!
Tony picked this bike up from a guy in Paris, Texas (yes, there is a Paris in Texas...Eiffel Tower and all  ). How it got to Texas, who knows, but last week Tony sent me a PM asking if I knew of anyone interested in it because he wanted to sell it. So, we worked out a deal and now she's mine. Had to sacrifice my Electra Straight 8 cruiser to obtain the fundage to get it, but I think it was a wise decision in the long run. Not sure I'll run into many more S&S made Laguna's here in the Lonestar State.
Anyway, got it home and swapped out a few parts to bring it up to my standards. Picked up an old 70s Brooks B17 Narrow from a cool guy locally off the CL this week for $45 and also added the gold Cycle Pro seat clamp, gold KKT Lightning pedals and ODI Mushroom grips. The next thing I plan to replace are the tires. Going to put some Kenda K80 cruisers on for a little more period correct look.
The patina and the ride are very cool. Haven't been this excited about a single speed bike in a while. The gearing is a little high, but hey, my leg muscles need the exercise anyway.
BTW...the Japanese SR stem and bars were OEM for this bike as well as the ARAYA wheels, Shimano hubs and Three Arrows chainring.
