Good work on the rear end. Those forks are modern Schwinn. Kinda a fat thick version of Schwinn blade forks.
Thanks it's a deviation from my original idea.I'm digging the downsized nanner
Getting close to painting and I am liking the look of the bottom pic.Looking good! I like the beefy bars with the fat frame tubes too. Maybe you could score the bar in the clamp area with some light cuts with hack saw? Give it some bite.
I saw a really cool hot rod paint job at the car show this past Friday. Black under coat makes for a dark look to the metallic, as opposed to a light coat like a silver, which would make it really bright. I will try to do a couple of stills from a friend's video, I know he shot about 3 hrs of the show.
Another thing I've seen that is really cool, and @Dr. Tankenstein did a bit of this effect on his build a couple RRB BO's ago. Use a gloss black as a complimentary color to your satin matte black. Has a really cool effect!

The tape was where I was thinking about doing a two tone paint but I am going in a different direction nowI know some guys have really beat up the stem area of those bars with sharpish big screwdrivers and heavy whacks for a hammer to actually chew up the needed knurled space. If you go too light there is a good chance they will still slip.
What are the green tape lines on the bike? Are they just for alignment, or are you mocking up some sort of side accents?
