Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

Layed out n being thought out...
Found old metal strips that I had left over rusting away, will bend n shape them how I want...
The cardboard cut is of a 1939 wards/hawthorne,just using it as a guide...
Never built a frame from scratch before,a lot of head scratching :D
Also picked up some sheet metal from a friend, will try and attack that tomorrow...

Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

Can't wait.
It seems to me if you use that flat bar that the frame would flex like a leaf spring if it's not reinforced.

Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

 Instead of rollin', i will b bouncin' along
I have it all sorted, hopefully I will get time over this easter break (Greek)2 get some welding & more cutting done...

Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

Well after some drinking and dancing and lots of eating(Greek Easter Holidays here) 8)
Spent the day getting the frame done, well almost done...
Still need to weld rear dropouts, the rear is built for a 20" wheel,I was going to put on 24" but have decided to go 26" with 3.00" tires.Bigger the better.
Used the girl bar,I cut off from the 1939 wards as the seat bar

Frame was a little twisted,but with a bit of jumping,banging,cursing etc :D
Seems straight enough now...Still have to grind and clean it up...

Now to start the cutting,of the skull
I'm using 3mm sheet metal.

Skull is cut out...Amazing what you can do with a angle grinder & jigsaw :D

The skull will go between the frame to stop the leaf spring bounce...

Now for the flames:

I've never seen a frame made from flat stock, how stiff is it and will it be stiff enough to not fold up when weight is put on it?
At the moment there is a slight spring to it,but once i weld in the skull and flames,it should be more stable... :|
The frame weighs in at 7kg,solid... :p

Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

Seriously!!! A giant skull?!!! You are one insane lady!!!
That's the coolest shock stiffener ever!
LOVE IT!!!

Cool build is this your tribute to Jeff Hanneman?
Well considering he wrote the song 'Angel of Death' and died the day after the RRBO#8 started,I guess so.... :D

Re: ANGEL '0' DEATH

So considering I had the day to myself, I continued on with the flames...
I decided to make the flames larger/longer...

The first cut.

The flames finished.
