I've got a late-model Schwinn cantilever frame with a 1-1/8" headset rather than the normal 1". Is it practical to adapt it to use a 1" threaded fork, or am I more or less stuck with the limited options for a 1-1/8" size?
I want to use a fork without brake bosses welded on (that's the way the stock one is), preferably a flat-blade style one. I also want to be able to use a stem-mounted headlight bracket or front carrier rack, which of course are also sized for a 1" fork.
