Auction bike

Found this JC Higgins bike at an auction as I was passing through a small town over the weekend. All original down to the carlisle lightnings that still hold air. Missing a pedal and a headset bearing. Not sure how that bearing got busted and removed but it sure did.

I paid $35 for it. The auction was for "choice" among about 7 bikes. The crazy thing was I thought I was bidding against another couple who had been looking this bike over quite a bit. Turns out they bid $5 more than me and then picked this little bantam convertible bike that I thought was a wreck of a bike! So I got the Higgins for what I think is a fair price.
