Congratulations !! A well deserved Grand Prize !! I know myself, I was amazed at the level of detail and time you put into this.
A week ago I finally ordered the spare part and guess what was waiting at home today, when I came back from our weekend on the campground?! Yes, the spare axle is here!
For comparison, the old axles:
And here all shiny the new one:
So now I only have to get to the campground before sunday, mount the new axle and bring the trike over here.
You might ask, why before sunday? Next sunday THE big bike event in Berlin is happening:
Die ADFC Sternfahrt
Literally thousands of cyclists will head towards the Brandenburger Tor on 18 different routes, protected by police and even using the first ever built Autobahn (AVUS) to get there.
This is on the Avus:
I plan to join the crowd with the Buggy Trike together with my two boys on their own MTBs. I promise to take some pictures and post them here, if we really make it.
I just hope that the weather will be kind to us...

Today I finally picked up the Trike from the campground. But before loading it into the car I mounted the shiny new axle:
To get the Buggy Trike into the car I had to reconfigure it a bit
But hey it fits:
Over night it will stay in the shed, as at home I have no good possibility to park it savely:
But before kissing it good night I got some sweet treats for the trike. It finally got it's badge of RatsHonour: the @OddJob Award found its final place:
And with a little bit of tweaking an filing I managed to exchange the halogene bulb in the frontlight against a LED:
The LED only pulls 2,6 W instead of 35 W... Now hopefully the battery lasts a little bit longer when the lights are on...

Today at the Brandenburg gate:
Two days ago the rear lights of the Trike got an upgrade to LED:
As with the LEDs facing out it only created one little bright spot, i decided to turn them facing inward. Like this the emitting light is much wider, even though it now has a darker spot in the middle. I'll probably order another set that's emitting light all around (and in two sizes, as I realized that the indicator lights have a different bulb length than the others), but for now these must do.

This is what you are looking for. No blind spots be pretty simple to modify to fit.

It's a boat light no blind spot. But your rear light will probably look pink LEDs they never look right
Do you have a online supplier of these LEDs? With a distinct product name I might find a place to buy it on this side of the pond...
Led disc lights you maybe able to find them with the same connection you have. I just .made my own. Check an RV or boat shop anyplace that sell campers should have them I believe there 12v
