Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Around my neck of the woods I could post that thing in MINT condition and I'd be lucky to get $30-$40 out of it. Girls bikes are a tough sell.

Antique Schwinn stingray Orange County chopper bike - $900 (santa rosa)

That's not even the big version! That's the kids version that came with training wheels! I've had 3, all have been GIVEN to except for the one I found in the trash.

Thanks guys. That ad is one I'm running actually trying to sell that bike. It's a great bike and I think the price is pretty good, but nobody is interested. At the price I have set, there is nowhere to go with it, if I continue to lower it someone will grab it up to resell somewhere else.

The tire isn't destroyed, looks like it's just been sitting in mud.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I truly believe they put in an extra zero in their asking price:

1950's Century Cruiser 200 'Monark" bike (boy's and girl's) - $1500 (Elk Grove)
As is: original paint, chain gurds, emblems on frames. $ 1,500.00 (both) OBO.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I would believe the extra zero theory too had they not put in the comma in the description "$1,500"

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Here is one with a couple extra zeros... what, a few extra zeros.

http://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/3822116584.html

The problem is, if you have ever tried to put any other characters in the price form block on a CL ad then you know that it ONLY allows numbers, so "$100" becomes "100" and "$1,000" becomes "1000" but worse than that "10.00" becomes "1000"

So on this ad, if he is not really asking FORTY THOUSAND dollars for a Mongoose mountain bike and it is just a problem with punctuation missing, then he is actually asking $400 which is still WAY WAY WAY too much.
