I saw a ad on Criagslist for a few vintage bikes so I decided to go take a look. This guy had many restored and original Schwinns.
Out of the few bikes there was a nice tandem and a older Firestone 77 girls bike or something like that and this bike that I have no clue what it is.

I made an offer and the bike was mine for $20.
Was it a good deal? I think so

Now, what is a Hiawatha?

With a little work the paint is coming off of the fenders. Back one might be too far gone to save.

I'm thinking that this is good enough rat material or maybe a board track racer style.

Hiawatha was the house brand for a hardware chain--don't recall the name, it's not one I've heard of. Cool bike, definitely a deal at $20--I like the chainguard & sprocket.
