Hey guys, doing a boardtrack bike and would like to put a fat headlight on the front?
What do most use? Motorcycle lights etc.? And how are they powered? The less wires the better I think.

You could use an old headlight, or an aftermarket chrome spotlight. You'll probably want to put a lower wattage bulb in it... you don't want to carry around a battery big enough to run a 55W bulb!

A good idea would be to put a cheap new LED bulb in an older housing, and run it from either a dynamo or some small batteries. If you want to minimize wiring, you can use the bike's frame as the light's ground wire.

Posted this a while ago somewhere..

the new maglite flashlights are super bright because they use a LED not not the crappy 1.99 harbor fright flashlight LED's
but a new technology of led that fits in the socket of the 2,3 and 4 D flashlight. the replacement bulbs are the same size as the old conventional bulbs.

it is not cheap for the replacement bulb but you will have a light that uses 3 volts,
emits 140 lumens of super white light and is not power hungry because it's LED

EDIT FOR

this is in full sunlight and you can see how bright these bulbs are

AND
when i took my flashlight to mammoth cave the guides both said they were going to get one because
it was a lot like natural light and they had seen things with mine they haven't ever before with their high dollar government flashlights
