I spent a lot of time piloting a sidehack back in the '80s - I used to sub for a buddy of mine on his paper route when he'd go out of town, and his sidehack was the PERFECT bike for hauling 110 lbs. of newspapers on Wednesdays and Sundays. Only thing that kinda blew about it is you couldn't bunnyhop curbs on it, so you had to slow down and roll up them at 2mph or so. Thankfully, he had Tuff wheels on it, so you didn't have to worry about them going out of true... just didn't want to slide it sideways into anything solid - Zytel nylon doesn't like lateral loads too much.
