Installed the new disc brake & the mechanism to test run the speedo.

That's the place I wan't it to be mounted, so I will fabricate a mounting plate for it on the stem. Not suprisingly - it works & it's accurate! :cool2:

From the far worst news - the screeching of the disc brake didn't stop - either I need to change the pads (again) or mess around with the bleeding... again

Also the chainguard is ready for mounting. :dance2:

Did the pads have any wear before you bled the brake? If so could they have switched sides when they were removed to bleed the brakes? Might be worth a try switching them around. Wish I could be more help. Don't know a lot about the discs.

Chain guard look great!

Thanks!

I've installed a new set after the bleeding, but I was riding with that old disc that I think is definitely designed for metallic pads only. It Coul tore those pads, since before I changed the disc I noticed that the pads are loosing a lot of material, even though I'm not using the front brake a lot.

The reasons are actually a few that I can think of:
1. The new disc might be "factory dirty"
2. Pads might have not equally worn due to use of that old disc
3. The whole brake system might be the problem. Got it for free since it was really badly loosing oil due to improper bleeding.

The course that I will take right now is clean the disc, loosen the tensioning screw on the handle & billed the whole system again, and change the pads again. That should finally help.

I've had a couple new bikes that have squealed like pigs until the pads were 'burned in'.

Also had that issue with some bikes, but never that loud & unpleasant

So I've been absent for a while mostly due to a lot of work in my bike shop, one of my best friends birthday parties (& ofcourse making a present for him) & another friends bachelor party... Also the heat here in Poland is just killing... mostly in the high 90's

Ah, and what could I make for my best friend? An apocalyptic themed bicycle helmet

You could call this thing safe... at least for yourself...

When it comes to the Lastochka - rode her a few times, with the new speedo installed...

And I'm proud to say - 18 mph is the top speed on flat on this one. My stomach, back & legs did hurt afterwards, but it was totally worth it.

Also installed the chainguard, and I really like the way it goes with the rest of the bike.

So right now I'm almost finished... just a few details & she's as good as she can be :cool2:

Chain guard looks great on there! The whole vibe of the bike works well together. Now ride it around in your search for the 'Final Photo' opp that will finish this off nicely!

Thanks! I do have one place in mind, just need to find out if it's accesible.

What's the best place for a photo session of a ratty board tracker? On an abandoned velodrome. This one is located in Warsaw and it's called Nowe Dynasy witch in old Warsaw Dialect translates to New Street.

Oh, also I forgot to mention - solved the screeching front disc problem with new brake pads.

I would love to see a ride video from this location!

You know... I can always borrow a GoPro... (It's one of those moments - "What?! I can't do it?! Hold my beer!)

It looks like Pripyat
Many places here do! It is close by :D

We actually have a lot of old abandoned places. I still can remember when I lived in a flat in the city center the neares abandoned house was just two blocks away.

We even have our own abandoned cities like Borne Sulinowo.

It's located in the West Pomeranian Voideship, and from 1945 to 1992 held a secret Soviet Military Base.

Just catching up here. Wow, there's a lot of coll stuff going on! Love the blend of ratty and new parts.:cool2::thumbsup:

Thanks! I'm still waiting for the license plate to be printed, must figure out some racing numbers, and build the new light charger ;)

Rode her a couple of times and boy, do I enjoy it. Maybe record a ride video... what do you guys think?

That helmet is wicked. Especially with the life size GI Joe head.

Great looking bike and that G.I. Joe piece is GREAT!! GTB!! PEACE

Haven't been on the forum for a while, but a lot of things (mostly bad  - just my luck) have been happening lately. I will post some final pictures from the photo session on the velodrome + a ride video when I get them from my photografers. For now, a little teaser :wink1:
