This nickel plated plate was on a Westfield wood rim fixed gear. I took the bike apart in 1964 and it's still in pieces.

Those long tags like this green one and my yellow one, where were they meant to be attached? The one I have was bent and attached over the rear fender.

I guess the last couple of photos answer my question.

Here's one from my Electra rat (it's a scanned and Photoshopped print of a dif plate)

and one from my bike in the "Anything Goes" build-off bike. It's a metal plate that was yellow on blue, so I painted it.

This was on my '60 Sears 24" back in '61 or '62 when they started the plate system. Ive seen them numbered in the thousands but they don't seem to do it anymore.

Should have had #3 but I had to fill out more paperwork and got #18. My younger brother got #6 and later that day my sister got #77. I also have #300.

Recently got this tag off e-bay for like $1. It had been painted a different color at some point. I just went over it with sandpaper to expose the lettering in bare metal.
