this is a $5 garage sale find from summer of 09, a bike the gf found and wanted to build for her 8 year old grand daughter who was with her when it was found. This bike was built with the intent that when the grand daughter is older it would be her bike, but for now its the gf's favorite bike to ride. The grand daughters favorite color is orange, so it is orange. The gf's son has a powder coating biz and he did the orange (also his favorite color and as he sayes " anything orange goes faster"), but the fenders were in too bad of shape for powder coat so he painted them. I assembled the bike. Using new wheels / tires, bearing, chain, handlebars / grips, pedals, I bent a stainless steel seat post with a schwinn exercise bike seat, a couple of 1" glass reflecters on the back fender, and a couple of special thing the gf had to have on the bike, the glass gear shift knob (that belonged to her grand father), and a 13 pool ball ( she was born on the 13th and is her favorite number). Its a nice riding bike, and she does seem to go faster on the bike. At some time there will be some pin stripes done to the bike. Hope she remembers this bike is suppose to go to the grand daughter someday.
