guys im thinking of building a mountain bike out of my excess cruiser bike frames..I was wondering if anyone build something like this before? any inputs and suggestions would be very much apreciated...

what mods should i do to the frame in order to combine modern bike parts?

Haha, funny to see this. I recently built a bike using an old schwinn cruiser frame, using road bike wheels, tires, front forks, and a straight bar. Running a rear brake only, and I actually really like it. I didn't bother painting it or anything yet, cause I wanted to see if I would like it or not first..

A cruiser/mountain bike combo sounds awesome though!!

It's been done quite a bit actually.

That bike you have pictured above isn't a vintage frame though....that's all brand new high dollar goodness right there with vintage styling ques.
