This is the one I picked from my friends barn as my first project. New enough to use pretty standard parts, old enough to be cool. I can't find anything quite like this Columbia online yet. Even on Dave's and Sheldon's site. We're guessing early 60's but not sure. The patina is pretty nice.... kind of like it as is.. may do the rims .
As always happens on the way back from getting the Columbia I passed a yard sale. I saw some bikes so I pulled over and walked back. Found this. An Astra Easy Fold (French) made by Motobecane. In all original condition save for it's missing the bolt that holds it together when in use... easy fabrication. I liked it, especially when I saw the price... $5 (five) pretty good deal I think. It's a 3-spd 20" wheels and pretty clean. A folding rat maybe???
Thanks for looking.
