Hey Everybody,
I'm finally posting my Royce Union
It's not that old and RU only in name
I bought last year's at the Minneapolis Messaround.
I saw it for $40 and didn't haggle with the guy
Here's how I got it
It was interesting that it had Raleigh components and Japanese hub
I took apart the hub to see what it was like
I've never seen multi-disc setup before
It doesn't have very linear braking
I kinda liked the whitewall
So I bought my first pair of whitewalls ever (Schwalbe Delta cremes)
They ride so smooth
I added some white pedals from my wife's Hawthorne
Last fall my wife and me went on the MN Antique and Classic Bike Ride
Super nice day and lots of cool bikes
We stopped on the Stone Arch Bridge (bikes and peds only)
My wife got another shot later from Boom Island park (Downtown Mpls in the background)
Which brings me up yesterday
I hadn't ridden it since last fall
So I took it around Lake of the Isles for some sunshine shots
Forgot how low the seat was and had a tough time with the 15mph winds
Then off to meet my wife at Lake Calhoun's East Beach
It was such a nice hot day to be on the beach
We found a new mural so my wife took a shot
Goodbye Lake Calhoun and summer
I think it's a really good looking bike
But it rides just okay
My favorite feature is how the fork has so much negative caster,
the top of the front tire goes above the bottom of the head tube
But not too much money in it and I'm happy
Thanks for looking
