Can someone tell me why all the kids have these itsy bitsy teenie weenie sprockets on their bikes? And what about the seat being all the way down? My 15 yo son is into skateboards, but wants a "trick bike" cuz his best friend has a new Haro. He brought home a catalog, and was I ever lost! About the only brands I knew of were DK and Kuwahara. And integrated headsets? Talk about feeling out of touch.
I guess I can't complain though. He'll be 16 in September, and doesn't want to drive, and wants a new bike instead of a car. 8)

The front sprocket is small (25t usually) because the freehub driver is (9t usually). 25X9 is exactly the same gearing as 44X16.

People started running their seat slammed for tailwhips, but I think now it's just the cool thing to do.

Threadless is about 100 times better than the old school setup.

Well alrighty then! Thanks for the info. I guess I'm just old school. 8)
