Picked this up about a week ago. Hmm, what is lurking behind that chrome spoke protector?

Since I bought it, I've found the correct parts to complete it... more pics after it is refurbished.

I like it with the BMX style fork ^ fits in better with the fake MTB look. Looks like you still have the original tires, too.

what kind of wheels are those?

Wheels are heavy duty double-knurled non-stamped Schwinn S-2s with an Atom rear drum and 5 speed cassette. Front wheel has a high flange Schwinn approved front hub.
