Hey Phreaks,
For June's ride we are planning an out of town ride to escape the
heat. We strongly encourage carpooling. Lheffe and Greenblazer have
room for people and bikes in their vehicles. This ride is now firmed up at 06-21-08.
Oak Creek Canyon Downhill. This is a point to point ride
requiring vehicle shuttle. We would start at the park at the top of
the hill, and ride down hill to Sedona. This ride is around 15
Miles downhill on Hwy Alt 89 without bike path. It is a beautiful
place, and very worth dealing with the hazzards, but you ride at your
own risk just like always. It is a two lane scenic black top road with
some steep down hill switchbacks, trees and tourist traffic. Very
little pedaling, but good brakes are required. It would be the longest
ride the phreaks have attempted, but it is almost completely downhill.
We will have to leave at least one vehicle in Sedona to shuttle people
back to the top of the hill to get their vehicles.

Your input is requested. If you have information, questions, or ideas,
please contact me. This ride will be an adventure, but it is not reccommended for younger children.
Later,
Allan Greenblazer
