Prewar upside down schwinn

Picked this up for 50 bucks. Prewar schwinn, upside down. Rides like a drunk on roller skates. I took all the upside-down stuff off and am going to make it a motorbike. The original owner made this in the '60s and rode it rough for years. The frame is ok, luckily

It may be prewar and upside down, but it's not a Schwinn frame. You can tell by the way the top tube is welded to the head tube. Gary

What does a schwinn weld look like?

Smooth and seamless looks molded in.

If the chainring is original it might be a Dayton.

Chainring is not original. The welds look redone. I stripped it down and found it has schwinn bearings, so ill call it a schwinn and put a badge on it. It is now fully rideable and right side up, i only need a seat.
