removing white letters on tires

What is the best way to remove the white lettering on a tire, or should I just get a black sharpie??? I know this has probably been discussed to death, but couldn't find a thread on it.

dont know if it works on all tires but heres what i do with all my felts...
acetone on a rag and scrub,scrub,scrub,scrub and then scrub some more!
then after that i spray them down with water to neutralize the acetone(better safe than sorry!)

both of those have been un-logo'd(they dont pay me to use their stuff so i dont advertise :wink: )

Old thread but... Elbow grease, Odorless mineral spirits and a fine scotchbrite pad... It's what has worked for me.
