Here is an interesting bike frame I just saw in Popular Science. Not quite sure what the purpose is other than to be different.

I just got that issue, basically the hoops act as suspension without compromising performance. According "to them" it works.

Looks to me like they should have routed the rear deraleur cable from the top, then they could have eliminated that huge loop of cable hanging out there.

The loop adds weight. They should have used an approach similar to Mrazek to build a forgiving rear triangle.
