sears spyder questions

ok so I just bout this spyder... I need help with model year and what parts are not original etc....

I believe that is a 1974 Murray made Spyder. The seat and sissy bar do not look correct. It is missing fenders. I am not sure about the crank but is most likely correct. Find a 1974 Sears catalog and the bike will be in there. I have a seat and sissy bar for that bike if it is the black seat with nice stitch work. Fenders should be easy to find. Looks like the original color was magenta. You may be able to strip just the top layer of paint and restore the original paint. Good luck with it.

this is from a 68-69 catalog... the numbers match but none of the parts... i can't find a 74 catalog to make sure. I DO however know the 1970 spyder changed to a single top tube.

I think they started changing to a single top tube in '69, as the '69 Christmas cat shows. In the '70 cat they show the Spyder 500, which was a big change to the whole concept.
