taking wheels, gears from a new bike

Hi Guys.... I need some advice. I'm thinking about taking the wheels along with associated gears, levers, cables off of this bike

and putting them on a 70's Murray frame.

Is this pretty easy to do or would there be a lot of headaches?

depends on the frame. Has to be able to mount brakes...

You'ld need some old style long-arm brakes or find/create pivots, the inner front ring might have to go, and if you have to spread the rear dropouts more than 1/2 an inch, it weakens the frame. Also need to check if derailleur will fit the seat post tube.(or settle for 6) I.O.W.-Take a tape measure and check the actual bikes, or try to find early mtb style 10 speed at a yard sale.

IMHO (coming from a former walmart assembler) The bike's components aren't anything good. I'd suggest as deorman said trying to find an early MTB. Heck just read the reviews about it.
