Ah, another year has passed and with this long cold winter that we have had thus far, surely has us all looking forward to warmer weather. And planning bike rides with a great group of friends seems like a good start to the new year ahead. Life is too short to not do the things you love. So..the discussion has been ongoing in the last 2, 3 years about doing a ride in Enfield, NH. It's time to do this ride!!! The particular date has been chosen because of the festivities on that day. SO.... here is the proposed itinerary. Ride from Lebanon to Lakeside Park. Where we could stop and picnic or just have a couple beers and take a dip in the lake. There are pubs in Lebanon and Enfield we could stop at. There is a fair in town on that day with rides and other stuff to do. A possible tour of The Shaker Museum. We could have dinner out or a backyard BBQ at the hosts house . And to cap the night off..FIREWORKS which we would have a good view at from the backyard. Lets make this happen!!!! Who is in?

I marked my calendar, fits in . Should I bring out the tall bike, any warning of low bridges or limbs ,would be appreciated. But there are other ways to go. No I don’t own a motorized Fat bike, but too cool.
The Element was terrific hotel...Stevil

There is always the possibility of a low-laying-branch on the rail trail, Steve; Heads -Up!!!

Okay NERRB,this ride is close. We got a day of fun planned so who’s in ? The trail is gravel? Swimming possible? Housing ?
Check in for details...Stevil

Meet-Up Place: Head of the Northern Rail Trail at the CCB in Lebanon, NH
Meet-Up Time: TBA

Accommodations will depend upon distance traveled; there are numerous motel/hotel places in the local area, we can settle on a "home base site" based on consensus.

Swimming will take place on Lake Masscoma in Enfield, NH.

I made reservations for this ride so long ago that I don't even remember where I am staying :rolleyes:o_O:wondering:

Meet-Up Place: CCBA Witherall Recreation Center 1 Taylor Street Lebanon, NH parking lot by the Northern Rail Trail
Park by the rec ctr near the baseball field

Meet-Up Time:
10AM or if this is too early, we'll move it back 10 minuets :bigsmile::bigsmile:
or meet-up time by consensus.

Cook-out, fireworks, town fair, trail riding and a day spent with great friends..it doesn't get any better then that!!! :)

I’m choosing a bike based on conditions.
Trail is gravel ? How many miles are we considering ? Help !...Stevil

Okay, the trail is gravel, basically flat, slight up grade initially but return trip is decent.

It's a gravel trail with a slight uphill gradient from Lebanon to Enfield, conversely, it'll be a downhill gradient on the return. Masscoma Lake will be to our right about 4-miles into the ride with benches and a rope swing! There is also a large rock to sit on further down, a great spot for meditation. The town fair is now in full swing and can have lunch at Micky's.

Looking forward to seeing all of you again! Peace

That was a fun time! Even though by the end of the ride we were soaking wet. Nice trail, good friends, the rides at the fair (So great that everyone embraced their inner child and went on at least a couple of rides) and I take back the part about the Bee ride being the best part. I knocked it to second best because the fireworks later that evening were spectacular! Thanks Jose and Lisa and family for their hospitality and the best seats in the town for watching that awesome fireworks display! Heres some pics....

Sorry I ruined that group shot, end of ride. But what a group of troopers,no whiners, thank you. Nice trail but gravel and rain seem to occur at the same time on NERRB rides. Thanks Jose for hosting and sharing. Your wealth of knowledge of all things is stunning
And that Guy fit in well,Welcome.
Kimmy and Gene, love yous and look forward to our next ride. ...Stevil
