the rear wheel is 26" and i have numerous choices in sheath sizes but in between 8" and 24" is the preferred
 
2 things to consider: How tight are your spokes, tighter will keep them from flexing Also the more spokes you mount to, the better it will be, as more spokes will be taking the torque
I would find a tandem rear wheel as it will have the super thick spokes
 
Ok I got my bike running and my final.drive is this: 12 tooth clutch to 15 tooth sprocket on the jackshaft. On the right side of the jackshaft is 3 1/2 front pulley and a 22 inch rear sheave, the power plant is a 7 HP engine and a electric motor, I need a MPH figure I don't know how fast I'm going
