our hobby mainly centers on old stuff. we beleive its better built from better materials by people that had more pride in their work. i usually agree that old is best. however, last night i was reminded how technology has changed our lives. my father in law has a pacemaker/defribulator in his chest. he was cleaning up the yard after the storm the night before. he overdid it. his heart went into a funky rythym and he felt weak. then it stopped. the defribulator restarted his heart with a shock that "felt like a mule kicked me in the chest". at the hospital, we were told everything was fine, that piece of modern technology the size of a small cell phone in his chest had worked flawlessly and saved his life.
thank GOD for answering our prayers! 30 years ago, he probably wouldnt have made it. but today, modern technology saved his life.
