Zirt fittings

How do I go about greasing my hub that has a zirt type fitting? the small stem the you would connect to your grease gun moves from side to side. It looks like you inject it with a needle maybe? Some help please.

is it for oil? Does it "open"?

looks like oil maybe...the old school 3-in-one oil cans with the little red tip should fit...

I got it and put some in hopefully that works.
