I think Slick is right on with the price. I think it would go nuts on ebay. I, personally would pull off the basket and leave it just the way it is. I LOVE it and I'm fare from a Schwinn fan.
I'm experimenting. I use a peroxide and salt mix with water. When I did the frame, it was down to bare metal and I had it soaked with the mix and shot the paint on it when it was wet. The rack war reverse (the way I normally do it), lightly painted, sanded and then rusted.
Thanks, it's an Elgin Robin tank. The Robin is always on the top ten prewar bikes list. I don't have the parts to complete the bike so I thought I'd have some fun while I wait.
Today, I made Metal straps for the tank and and also made leather belts to wrap around it. Also, I changed, painted and added a fender ornament plus added a little color to the tank.
