They are 3/4 " hobby horse springs; they are adjustable.

Springs are not completely compressed, still plenty of play in them. They function exactly like a typical springer system. The hobby horse coils are wound closed for strength due to smaller diameter.

Spongy at first (I weigh 260). Tighten down and the ride is firm, as expected. The primary goal was to add reinforcement in the rear and some comfort to the ride.

Still like the springs, I really like the rear suspension idea...has to work better than the springs I put on Artemus' seat.
