Inquiring minds want to know...
What style of bikes are we going to be competing with in the next Buildoff?
Muscle two classes? Somebody pull the trigger on the starting gun please.

Great story on the racer!

paint sure did come to life where you worked it!

now you need to scramble for a seat! I’m sorry!
I've got other plans for a saddle,Jude. This Racer won't be too much of a Schwinn, other than the frame, after it gets 'skinny-ed'. 😁

Great discussions in this thread. It's rare that I've participated in the winter build offs mostly due to keeping up with other projects that I usually have to catch up with and vacation travel (the next few months are filling up quickly for me). But I do like many of the ideas put forward here. Mostly, shortening the main build off back to 3 months and have two other variety build offs during the year. Skinny tire sounds cool too (it even had me thinking about fixing up a little Moulton that I picked up a few years back). My only suggestion for everyone is to always keep it fun. Don't get too bent out of shape if you feel someone isn't agreeing completely with what you are saying. Just build cool bikes and have fun!!

Starting next year I think we will see a much more agreeable build off formatting for all 😉

I agree with the shorter time . 4 months to long people start adding stuff that well doesn't need to be there. Just to stay off the page two slacker list. I did it to then stopped myself.
Agreed. I think you'll start to see more like 3 months(ish) per build

🤷‍♂️

Maybe

🤔

Possibly

😉

Well at this point it feels like Oct 1st is going to come and go with no start to a build off. So boys unpack your warm socks cuz a Nov, Dec, Jan build off will be a chilly one no matter what out the mystery buildoff is. I'm wondering if my propane grill will generate enough heat to warm the o' garage? I mean not really heat it up but just remove the chill.
It's coming it's coming.......patience and I think you'll be pleased with the outcome

Much behind the scenes work

Here is some fun motivation for the ORBO piece of the TTBO.
Way back in BO8 there was a Klunker private sub class and one of the requirements was a video or photo evidence of a dirt or gravel skid typical of early Klunker MTB photos.
As a gag, I submitted this video of Firewing, the Urban Klunker. Turn your sound on for this too.

I put all the bicycle frames away in the shed. It is time for me to switch gears.

This chassis hasn’t seen the light of day in 7 mos. It needs some legitimate frame rails, and lots of bobbing.

Time to strip it and flip it.40B99C01-50AF-4196-AEC2-403B13E7B2F5.jpeg
This will have to get its own thread in the OT section.

Check the upper section where Build Offs show. Seems the gnomes and elves are showing their work today.
Yeah! Just saw the time frame. It provides the perfect pressure for my muscle plans to finish before my son's birthday. His birthday is the 15th of January... 🤘🥳👍
