Small update, I mentioned getting forks trimmed and front fender mounted. Looks pretty good.

Got the seat sorted too! Grabbed a late Christmas present off eBay in the form of a chrome laid back BMX seatpost. Threw in a Wald 905 shim and boom! Problem solved.

Threw on my NOS Wald rat traps pedals from Dale Alan too.....shiny!

I mocked up some filler pieces where I cut the frame to fit that FAT rear wheel.
Next step, tear it down and off to media blast!

OK, dropped the frame off at the sandblaster today.
So, while I wait to paint and reassemble.
Not feeling the Kenda tire I have.
I'm going with a 26x2.125, debating on one that matches or the brick tread, which more 'traditional' for a musclebike .

Got a text, the frame is ready for pickup from the media blaster. Only $30 to strip ~50 year old chrome. I would never been able to get it off that fast without spending WAY more money doing it myself. Pics tomorrow! I may try brazing new fender braces in too...
 
I picked up the fork few years ago from a member here. I think it's just a standard unit 1" threaded triple tree like this:

Picked up the frame today, it looks great. Too bad I tore my shop apart to build some shelving in there, it's gonna have to wait.
Maybe I can get it primed........

Well was able to get a coat of etching primer on it, some bodywork started and the the first coat of filler primer. Gonna take a little more TLC than I first thought, but it'll be worth it. Got my shelving built too, so I can put my shop back together tomorrow while I'm 'working from home'....

Got the new front tire. Decided to go with a brick tread to stay more 'traditional', but went with a 26x1.75.

It takes me back to my original thoughts on what I picture 'rail' dragster to have and it helps exaggerate the Fatti-O on the rear.
Looking down at them the rear is twice as fat!

Weekend is gonna be cold for Atlanta, probably too cold to paint, which stinks. Guess I'll have spend it shopping for the last few 'bits'..... :)

Was able to get a second coat of filler primer on it yesterday. Letting it 'cure' today and hitting it with some 320 grit tomorrow. When it warms up again, I lay on a coat of white primer as a base, then color. Really hoping to have this one ready for the Get-a-Grip show at the end of March.
But you need pics right? Well, since it was 'cold' here today, I bought this cool Huffy headlight. There....a picture :)

Funny how things work out, the cold temps forced me to rethink some of the design elements on the bike. Taking a different approach on a couple of things that would have messed up the paint....
