Where do you guys get your spokes?

Good thing I saw this thread. My Columbia actually has a snapped spoke - wheel in dire need of truing because of this. I figured they'd be a pretty hard to get part, if only because old 26" 1.75" cruiser wheels were deceptively sized and won't match up with modern cum deceptive sizes.

what new cruiser should I get?

Well, where I live, women's bikes are priced sky-high, and men's bikes just about never turn up. At least when it comes to cruisers. Honest take? Just buy a 26" women's bike. So what if it has a stepside frame to accomodate a skirt? It's not 1960. I can't fathom people looking at you oddly for...

Non-original 60's BF Goodrich Challenger: Value?

Yeah. I'm indeed in Western Mass. Just looking for a bike to get around, but one with some real Made in USA soul. For whatever reason, seems these rarely come up, and when they do, they come up at really steep prices. I know - even though we're near the old Columbia Mfg. plant. But basically...

Non-original 60's BF Goodrich Challenger: Value?

New to forum, and bikes in general:

My first bike was a K-mart Huffy. One gear, and handlebar brakes. I remember it kept having trouble with the bearings. My dad must have taken the assembly apart a good five times. Once, he even ordered a new bearing part. How frugal. But yeah. My next was a really foul $58.00 Roadmaster mountain...

Non-original 60's BF Goodrich Challenger: Value?

Hmm. I saw this bike on our local Craigslist It's a 1960's BF Good Ridge, Aka Huffy Jetfire. The picture is rather small, but looks half-way decent. Tires hold air. Comes with neat, but unoriginal afaik, tassling. Seat has two rips. Light cover is broken and bulbs missing. No clue if tank is...
