    What a great bike! I hope you don't think this is a daft question but if you were pedalling flat out, how fast do you think it would go?? I'm asking as i'm considering putting together a single speed bike for speed. Is it a case of more teeth more speed?

    Tar very much for the comments! It's a Roadster model from some time around the mid 50's. I'll start cleaning it up soon, I've taken the mudguards off and will start cleaning the rust off the wheels with wire brushes/wire wool and elbow grease.

    Re: A 2010 Raleigh Bomber. Hmmmm The definition of bomber could be a whole new thread? Raleigh around the time had several bikes out with 'tough' sounding names such as Striker, Grifter, Boxer, Commando etc. I reckon it was called Bomber as a fitting name? Though indeed as per Ratrods...
